Chloroprene, generically known as Neoprene, has more resistance than natural rubber to sunlight, ozone and oxidation. It has good resistance to heat and does not soften as natural rubber does under severe exposure. It has moderate resistance to petroleum based products other than aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons.
Neoprene rubber is used on applications similar to those for natural rubber but where increased resistance to heat, ozone, weathering and oil is required.
The operating temperature range is –20°C to +100°C.
These are general properties which will vary between grades.
AK Rubber manufacture neoprene gaskets, packers, seals and washers and supply in sheet, strip or roll form.
Alternatively, we can produce bespoke parts to customer drawings & specifications.
All items can be manufactured to meet either ‘one off’ maintenance requirements or large volume production runs utilising our high speed computerised cutting machinery.
We can also supply an INSERTION neoprene in which the rubber sheet is reinforced with an embedded fabric lattice to minimise tearing.
Neoprene rubber sheet is available in a thickness range of 1mm to 25mm.
